Grounds
Virtual Tour
Barfield is set in 13 acres of its own beautiful grounds. We have 2 main sports fields and an adventurous activity area which is on permanent loan to us from our neighbouring quarry site. On this site we are able to offer quadbiking, archery and off-road driving in addition to paintball and shooting ranges. We have a small woodland area adjacent to the North Downs Way which allows the children to benefit from nature trails and cross-country running areas. This area houses yet another quadbiking track. We have a number of high ropes and low ropes elements here as well as a basic survival area and facilities for night camps.
The main school car park is located on the left as you enter the school. Adjacent to the car park are various high ropes elements, including the famous Barfield Zip Wire which begins 20 meters of the ground and travels for 200 meters over the car park and main sports field. We have a 10 metre rock climbing tree with two grades of climb in an area just behind the Multi-Resource Centre. This can be used to teach abseiling skills as well as basic belaying techniques.
Barfield has a number of outdoor play areas for the children to use during their break periods and the Pre-Prep has its own dedicated play area. A number of climbing, balancing and swinging activities are provided for the children to use and the children may use the main fields for ball games. We have two hard play areas, one of which is floodlit and used during breaks, games periods and in the evenings.
