Religious Education
The Common Entrance syllabus constitutes 3 sections.
Sections One and Two comprise Old and New Testaments respectively. Section Three gives the
candidate opportunity to explore a variety of major world religions such as Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism, following work they will already have done in years 4 - 6.
The mark allocation remains the same for each of the three sections at 20 a piece. (The candidate must do one question from each section).
Candidates will, also, cover work on contemporary moral and ethical issues, such as the "Just war" theory, behavior and conduct, political oppression and, also, attitudes to alcohol, drug abuse and social responsibility.
