Swimming Pool

We have a 14m x 7m indoor heated swimming pool. Children from the Nursery to Year 8 have regular swimming lessons with our qualified teaching staff during the normal school curriculum. Extra swimming lessons can be arranged after school and during the weekends. We run a school of synchronised swimming for girls and boys which is run by Mrs MacDonald who was seven times European Champion.
We host swimming fixtures against local schools and also enter national competitions. Barfield was the National Small Schools Champion in 1991 and third in 1992. The pool is used by Three Peaks Outdoor Pursuits to teach children canoeing, snorkelling, life saving and personal survival skills, water-polo and command tasks.
